Program Notes
Finding Hope was inspired by quotes from three of the world’s most revolutionary orators and activists – Desmond Tutu, the South African Anglican cleric & theologian known for being an anti-Apartheid and human rights activist; Helen Keller, the first deaf-blind person to earn a bachelor of arts degree; and Martin Luther King, Jr., the famed minister and activist who became the most visible spokesperson and leader in the civil rights movement.

“Hope is being able to see that there is light despite all the darkness.”
– Desmond Tutu

“Optimism is the faith that leads to achievement. Nothing can be done without hope and confidence.”
– Helen Keller

“Only in darkness can you see the stars”
“We must accept finite disappointment, but never lose infinite hope.”
– Martin Luther King, Jr.
