The West Percussion Group, directed by Dr. Brian A. West, performed my large percussion ensemble work "Adaptation" at the Royal College of Music in London, England on July 4, 2012 as part of the International Festival of Bands, Choirs, and Percussion Ensembles.
Dr. Brian Meixner and I will be performing two of my newest compositions at the Southeast & Northeast Regional Tuba & Euphonium Conferences in Jacksonville, FL and Ithaca, NY, respectively – "Coming Home" for euphonium & piano and the world premiere of "Spitfire" for euphonium & marimba/vibraphone.
Two of my pieces – Limerick Daydreams and Concerto for Vibraphone & Percussion Ensemble – will be featured on the University of Oklahoma Percussion Ensembles Concert tonight (11/8/2012) at 8:00 p.m. CST. The concert will be live streamed at http://fvbps-flash.ou.edu/music.html.
I just learned that four of my pieces have been added to the ever-elusive Texas UIL Prescribed Music List. So, if you're teaching in Texas, run over RBC, Pender's, Lone Star, or Steve Weiss Music and pick these up! In the Keyboard category, "Almost Beyond" (marimba & piano) and "Encantada" (solo vibraphone). In the Percussion Ensemble category, "Ellipsis" (8 players) and "Power Struggle" (also 8 players).
I am honored to announce that the West Percussion Group, directed by Brian A. West from Texas Christian University, will be performing my 3-movement work "Adaptation" for 11 percussionists at the International Festival of Bands, Choirs & Percussion Ensembles in Europe this coming week. They will be at the Royal College of Music in London, England on July 1st and the Normandy American Cemetery in France on July 4th.
