World Premiere of IN THE SHADOW OF GIANTS (WA)
The Ferris High School Percussion Ensemble (Spokane, WA), directed by Ben Bruggemeier, will perform the world premiere of IN THE SHADOW OF GIANTS, which they commissioned in the summer of 2025.
Guest Artist at OkPAS Days of Percussion
Nathan will be a guest performer and clinician at the 2026 Oklahoma Percussive Arts Society Days of Percussion at Choctaw High School, where he will perform his CONCERTO FOR VIBRAPHONE with the Choctaw HS Percussion Ensemble, directed by Josh Turner.
National Conference on Percussion Pedagogy (Lubbock, TX)
The National Conference on Percussion Pedagogy is designed to provide a forum for elementary & secondary music educators, university percussion pedagogues, professional percussionists, university music education specialists, and undergraduate and graduate students to explore the status of percussion pedagogy in the United States as well as to outline strategies for improving the teaching and learning of percussion instruments. The conference will provide a forum to increase awareness of “what is happening,” to guide us toward identifying “what should happen,” and the means for “making it happen.” Nathan serves on the NCPP Board of Advisors.
Performance of AZUL (The Netherlands)
Duo Resonair (Kali Baldou, flute & André Neto, percussion) will perform AZUL in the theater foyer of the Schouwburg Concertzaal Tilburg (The Netherlands).
Performance of BURN3 (Helsinki, Finland)
Members of the Finland Radio Orchestra will perform BURN3 for flute, clarinet, & marimba on the themed concert, Alkuvoima (Primal Force). Performers are Kaisa Kortelainen (flute), Giuseppe Gentile (clarinet), and Kazutaka Morita (marimba).
Performance of CONCERTO FOR VIBRAPHONE (Eurovision Young Musicians)
Ygor Majchrzyk, a student at IMEP Paris College of Music, will perform CONCERTO FOR VIBRAPHONE in the final round of competition for Eurovision Young Musicians in Armenia.
Performance of AZUL (La Jolla, CA)
As part of Camarada chamber ensemble’s program “Creativity & Madness,” Beth Ross Buckley (flute) and Wesley Fowler (marimba) will perform the duet AZUL.
Performance of WHERE DREAMS DANCE (FMEA)
The Florida All-State Middle School Band, conducted by Dayna Cole, will perform WHERE DREAMS DANCE, with euphonium soloist Dr. Gail Robertson, at the Florida Music Educators Association (FMEA) Conference in Tampa.
Guest Conductor for CJMEA Region Percussion Ensemble
Nathan was the guest clinician/conductor for the Central Jersey Music Educators Association (CJMEA) Region Percussion Ensemble. Selections on the program included his pieces LUMINESCENCE, EDGE OF THE WORLD, and THE HEROES AROUND US, as well as Mo Longo’s TO THE RED AND BLUE.

The Elkins High School Percussion Ensemble will perform the world premiere of A WORLD IN US, guest conducted by Jim Kirkpatrick, at the Midwest Clinic in Chicago.

The Old Dominion University Wind Ensemble, conducted by Dr. Tyler Austin, will perform BLACK RAINBOW for 6 solo percussion & wind ensemble at the Virginia MEA Professional Development Conference in Richmond. Soloists include Professor David Walker & his ODU percussion students.
Performance of RHYME OR REASON (PASIC)
Nathan’s percussion quintet RHYME OR REASON will be featured on the clinic “Your Ear Drum: The Most Important Instrument You Own” by John R. Beck and several University of North Carolina Professors, including Juan Álamo, Thomas Taylor, Eric Willie, and Amy Xin Yin, at the 2024 Percussive Arts Society International Convention.

Nathan was commissioned to write a large percussion ensemble work for the Aledo High School Percussion Ensemble, directed by Scott Stephens, for premiere at the 2024 Percussive Arts Society International Convention in Indianapolis, IN. The result was LUNA, LUNA.
Guest Artist at Lancaster High School (NY)
Nathan will be a guest composer, conductor, and performer at Lancaster High School, outside Buffalo, NY. He will guest conduct his wind ensemble works Downtown Dash & Wingspan and will perform the second movement of his Concerto for Vibraphone & Wind Ensemble & Irish Washerwoman for solo xylophone & band.
