National Conference on Percussion Pedagogy (Lubbock, TX)

The National Conference on Percussion Pedagogy is designed to provide a forum for elementary & secondary music educators, university percussion pedagogues, professional percussionists, university music education specialists, and undergraduate and graduate students to explore the status of percussion pedagogy in the United States as well as to outline strategies for improving the teaching and learning of percussion instruments. The conference will provide a forum to increase awareness of “what is happening,” to guide us toward identifying “what should happen,” and the means for “making it happen.” Nathan serves on the NCPP Board of Advisors.

Guest Conductor for CJMEA Region Percussion Ensemble

Nathan was the guest clinician/conductor for the Central Jersey Music Educators Association (CJMEA) Region Percussion Ensemble. Selections on the program included his pieces LUMINESCENCE, EDGE OF THE WORLD, and THE HEROES AROUND US, as well as Mo Longo’s TO THE RED AND BLUE.

Performance of RHYME OR REASON (PASIC)

Nathan’s percussion quintet RHYME OR REASON will be featured on the clinic “Your Ear Drum: The Most Important Instrument You Own” by John R. Beck and several University of North Carolina Professors, including Juan Álamo, Thomas Taylor, Eric Willie, and Amy Xin Yin, at the 2024 Percussive Arts Society International Convention.

Guest Artist at Lancaster High School (NY)

Nathan will be a guest composer, conductor, and performer at Lancaster High School, outside Buffalo, NY. He will guest conduct his wind ensemble works Downtown Dash & Wingspan and will perform the second movement of his Concerto for Vibraphone & Wind Ensemble & Irish Washerwoman for solo xylophone & band.
