To fill a void in the literature of hymns arranged for solo marimba, C. Alan Publications released the first volume of The Sacred Marimbist arranged by David Gillingham. After its success, I was asked to arrange hymns for the second volume in the series. All of the arrangements are playable on a low-A (4.3-octave) marimba and feature flexible durations since you often have to lengthen or shorten pieces when playing in church. Most of the hymns in this collection are appropriate to play throughout the liturtigical calendar.
