notes

Legacies was commissioned by the North Carolina Chapter of the Percussive Arts Society in honor of composer/percussionist/teacher Lynn Glassock who retired from UNC-Chapel Hill in the spring of 2011. The first percussion ensemble piece I ever played was Lynn's octet "Layers," before I even had any thoughts or hopes of being a composer. His percussion compositions have influenced my own writing greatly.
